Our story

Proudly owned and operated by a couple of local surf legends, Mega Surf came to life over 10 years ago but the OG store, formerly known as Rebel Surf Menswear originated in 1986 after one of those said legends, Richard Langdon followed his surf and clothing passion at a young age.

Rebel Surf Menswear quickly became the most talked about store in Whangarei, it then later transitioned to Rebel Surf, which was situated in a hot spot in the middle of Whangarei CBD. Nearly 40 years on, Mega Surf is renowned to be one of the raddest surf shops in the country, stocking quality brands from all around the globe

Northland is well known for its superb surf spots, stunning coastlines, and it’s relaxed, laid-back lifestyle. The area has plenty to offer whether you’re in or out of the water and whatever gear you need – we got it.

Mega Surf was created by surfers, for surfers and the friendly staff have extensive knowledge on all the brands and products that are stocked in store – so come in, have a yarn, and meet the crew.
